A bit about me

I’m Bec and I live in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

I have 12 years’ experience in corporate communications, including heading up the Internal Communications function for three large companies in Sydney. During my career I’ve established a broad range of communications skills, leading me to now freelance in the areas I care about most.

Writing is my passion. I enjoy taking business information and turning it into something compelling that people will actually read. We live in a world where companies can no longer write for an 'audience'. They need to treat their readers as 'participants' in a conversation. So, understanding the right message and channel for the people you’re speaking with is so,so important.

I’m a strategic adviser to senior management, assisting with leadership messages, change communications and establishing a tone of voice that reflects the culture of a company. I also enjoy exploring ways to bring a company strategy to life, by creating a strategic narrative and using storytelling techniques that can threaded throughout ongoing communications to help people connect with where the company is headed.
